The historic quest for the constitutional creation of Ijebu State received fresh impetus during a high-level consultative dialogue between royal fathers, community elders, and Hon. Rasak Oluwakemi Daddah in Atan, Ijebu North-East.
Traditional rulers highlighted that the agitation for Ijebu State remains the oldest and most economically viable statehood petition in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They noted Ijebuland's robust agricultural hinterland, maritime deep-sea port potential, industrial corridor, and deep human capital.
Hon. Daddah assured the royal fathers that as their representative in the Federal House of Representatives, he would act as a passionate, tireless voice on the floor of the National Assembly. He committed to co-sponsoring the Ijebu State Bill and building bipartisan coalitions across northern and southern caucuses.
"The creation of Ijebu State is not merely a political ambition; it is our sacred heritage and an economic imperative," Hon. Daddah remarked. "We will carry the mandate of the Awujale and our revered Obas into the hallowed chambers with vigor, data, and uncompromising commitment."
