Labour leaders recall Daddah's audited prudence: Over ₦40M inherited council debt cleared with zero loans
“Civil servants, pensioners, and labour representatives reaffirm solidarity with Hon. Daddah, citing his award-winning 2014 tenure where salaries and leave bonuses were paid concurrently and on time.”

At an interactive symposium with civil service representatives and labour veterans in Ijebu-Ode, attendees reflected on the remarkable fiscal achievements of Hon. Rasak Oluwakemi Daddah during his local government chairmanship.

When Hon. Daddah assumed office in 2012, he inherited over ₦40 Million in municipal debts, unpaid liabilities, and demoralized staff. Rather than seeking commercial bank loans or making excuses, he instituted strict financial discipline, expanded internally generated revenue, and liquidated every kobo of the inherited debt.

Throughout his tenure, staff salaries and leave bonuses were disbursed promptly, earning him the prestigious 2014 Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Most Labour-Friendly Local Government Chairman Award.

"Governance is about fiscal integrity," Hon. Daddah noted. "If we could deliver healthcare, build roads, and clear debt without loans at the local level, our people can rest assured that every naira budgeted for constituency projects in Abuja will be accounted for down to the kobo."
